Malana Trek

A village considered of having the world’s oldest democracy. This village has a language as no other, known as “Kanashi”, which is spoken by natives and the natives alone. The story behind this language is associated with their deity ‘Jamdagni Rishi’, who is known to have defeated a demon, who after his loss asked the Rishi to keep his language alive, which amongst the native is known as “Raksh” language or the language of the demon.

Although there is fine road to Malana which goes through the village ‘Jari’, but to be honest, the best way to reach Malana is through the trek to “Chanderkhani Pass”. It is the highest point going there.
